Simon's 3 yr. check-up

Simon went to the doctor this week and did a great job for his 3 year check-up, except he didn't want to get measured.....oh, well! He measured APPROXIMATELY 39 1/2 (90th percentile) inches and weighed in just under 35 pounds (80th percentile).

SIMON IS THREE!

Wow, my little boy turned three years old today! Simon was loving having a birthday. Tons of people called to wish him a Happy Birthday and we took him to the mall and out for dinner which has become the tradition for birthday's at our house. Yesterday, Grandma and Grandpa DeVries took him to the mall where he got to make a monket at build-a-bear and ride the Bob the builder toy by the food court....oh and his favorite, they let him stoll through the Disney store and he picked out a set of Cars cars that he talked G & G right into buying for him : ) He was sooo thrilled when he got hom. AND tomorrow we have a birthday party for him at our house with all of the family! He is one SPECIAL little guy!

Potty Training 201...

Yes, 201! If you remember we tried to potty train Simon this past summer and it just didn't work because he wasn't ready. WELL he is now pretty much potty trained and doing great. He still wears his diapers to bed and I put on a pull-up for naps and he is still working on #2 in the big boy potty : ) BUT overall is doing much better this time and really seems to get it. YEAH!!!!

HARVEST DAY

Simon and Sierra really enjoyed Halloween. Grandma Oosterhouse and Grandma and Grandpa Grooters came to our house to celebrate as well. Simon handed out all of the candy this year which was funny to watch. Some kids got 1 piece out of him and some kids got a huge handful of 8 or 9 pieces. Guess they had to learn life isn't fair : )
We went through a lot of CANDY and had to refill the bowl at one point. Simon helped, and I told him to take it back to the living room for me. Next thing we knew, James was asking where the candy bowl was. We found it with SIMON, who was up in his bedroom with the entire bowl of candy hidden away in his bed. The little stinker!
The kids also went trick-or-treating at our next door neighbors house (they don't really get it yet, so felt no need to go further around the block) and were thrilled with the candy bars they got there!
