NYC

View of the city from Erin's work We watched Erin play in her soccer league Spent MANY MANY hours on our feet walking around : ) The Parkinson's walk went great. They raised over 1.4 million so far and are still taking donations.

There was a crazy amount of people who walked. The group line you can kind of see in this pic is only a very small portion. We counldn't belive how far it stretched. Tulips were in bloom in NYC and were so pretty We had a great time in NYC visiting EB.

A BIG announcement for PETUNIAS!

Bethany Mulder and her sister Rebecca are going to be hosting a PETUNIAS open house (similar to a tupperware party, but you can come and go as you please) in Holland on May 12 from 5:00-8:00pm. SO if you have been wanting to check out some of my stuff please feel free to join us. More details to follow!

Finally PIGTAILS

I have been dying to try pigtails in Sierra's hair ever since the day I found out I was having a girl. So we tried a bee-bop (one tail on top of head) this weekend and then Sunday morning Sierra let me comb her hair into pigtails and she kept them in all day long (a minor miracle). I was thrilled....everyone else at my home thought I was a little crazy : ) BUT isn't she the CUTEST!

Woodchips

James helped my dad and brother put in new woodchips at their house in Holland this past weekend. The kids spent most of the day outside too and just loved it. Simon collected ants while Sierra made herself as busy as possible getting dirty, her FAVORITE!

Gramp Tamminga is 85!

Simon is 2!

What does that mean? Well, mark the date. This past week my lovely son, had his first screaming, kicking, crying at the top of his lungs, tantrum in the middle of a store. We were in Kohls and we were leaving the toy section and he freaked. Literally everyone in the store was staring at us and I heard comments like "Poor Mom" , "where is that kid's mom" "I remember those days, it wasn't fun"......NICE!

Worm Hunting...

The new "IN THING" at our house. The kids LOVE rainy days and going outside to hunt for worms. They love to pick them up and "rescue" them from the pavement and bring them back into the lawn. Simon especially loves hunting "wormies" : )

Traverse City

We had fun for a couple of days in Traverse City, besides the getting no sleep part. The kids got to play outside a lot, swim, ride the carousel, and EAT lots of junk. BUT they both have a terrible cough and cold right now. So the first night after listening to Sierra cough for an hour James went and got her some medicine at 3 am. So after it kicked in we all got to sleep for 3 hours, until Simon woke up at 6 am coughing and needing medecine to. So after basically the same thing on night 2 so we left a night early and slept in our own beds last night....and we all slept in until 9:30am this morning : ) YAY!!!

Holland Community Aquatic Center

James' mom and our family went to the Aquatic Center today as we thought it would be a great way to spend part of our spring break. The kids had an absolute blast, but unfortunately I forgot the camera. We will definitly be going back with them soon. It was fun for all! And now we are looking forward to spending a few days in Traverse City. We head up there Wednesday : )

Kid Update

My kids seem to be getting so big lately, their actual physical size and how they act. Sierra has been walking (or should I say running) for a good month now and loves it. No matter how many times she falls she always gets right back up and likes to be in the middle of everything that is going on. She is also talking now. So far she says "mama" "uh-oh" "ball" "ow" "bye-bye" and "Rock-a-bye". Simon totally is putting together good phrases and sentences and can let us know by talking pretty much what he wants. He is also loving getting outside in the nicer weather we are having. He also suddenly got much taller. He grew out of most of his winter pants and we are anxiously awaiting summer and short-wearing weather : )
